The purpose of this brochure is primarily to showcase a programme that was funded by the European Commission and has now come to an end in Afghanistan. It accompanied a detailed report back to the EU and will also help procure other donor funders for similar programmes in future.
Christian Aid commissioned us to design and produce the digital artwork for this impactful and optimistic photo-led brochure. We decided on a 260x210mm portrait format, which along with our layout design, results in a piece that looks and feels more unique and special than a standard A4 booklet (without costing any more to produce).
Copy was supplied and we were given a range of images and accompanying captions from which we selected, organised and arranged the brochure. It was particularly important for the images to communicate the story, and we worked closely with Christian Aid’s photography department to ensure the most powerful, compelling and relevant images were selected and laid out in a format that unfolded alongside the copy and captions.
A beautiful little picture book that has really connected with its target audience. Christian Aid were incredibly positive about the clean crisp look, which moves away from the heavier colouring of some of their other corporate print materials. Not least because this needed to carry EU branding as well as showcasing and respecting the images.
